Fairy in Flight

Hello Everyone!! I am really excited to share this A2 card I put together today. I used the sketch over at Kenny K's Krafty Krew challenge to plan this card. If you have visited my blog before you probably already know that I love Kenny K digis. They are so fun to color and work with. My collection of these  fabulous digital stamps is definitely growing. Without further ado I present my fairy in flight. This gorgeous little faerie was colored using my copics. I used some different colors on her and I really like the way she came out. I also inked her up using distress inks to soften the colors and give her more of a subdued look. I sprinkled glitter on her skirt, wings and vest to finish her off. I used pop dots to add dimension and her wings come off the card. The fabulous roses were rubbed with distress stickles in diamond. I also made another pin, and tucked it in the roses. I think it gave it a nice touch. Thank you for stopping by, hope you like the card! Have a great day, stay crafty.

Easel with a twist?

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I have finally gotten around to crafting and I am super excited to show you what I have come up with. I actually got this idea from Candy C over at Creativity is Contagious. I am really in love with her take on this easel drawer card. I followed her link to the tutorial, and this is what I put together. I love the vintage, shabby chic look, and really wanted to try my hand at it. I really LOVE the way this came out! I even made the stick pin, so super easy. I went to my local Hobby lobby and Michael's and picked up a couple of new things. The doilie was white and actually from the baking isle at Michael's, I glimmer misted it with Cork. I love the vintage look it gave it. I also put glimmer mist in Pearle, to the flowers. I think I am going to become addicted to Glimmer Mist! The butterfly is a die cut using my Cameo. It is not showing up in the pictures but I heat embossed the solid portion of the die cut with an antique gold and inked it with black soot to give it a metal look. I hope you enjoy this little project as much as I enjoyed creating it. Stay crafty!

I'm Yours Shadow Box

Hello my fellow crafters! Hope whatever part of the world you find yourself you are keeping warm. It has been frigid in my little corner of the universe and I am definitely counting down to those great summer days! I had the opportunity to put together this 5 by 7 shadow box this week, desperately trying to get away from making another card. It was really easy to put together, I was pleasantly surprised. I  enjoy using my silhouette Cameo, wish I could find more time to create with it...:(  The file is a die cut from Lori Whitlock, that can be purchased on her site as an SVG or on the silhouette online store. Not really sure what I am going to do with it. I thought of attaching a card to the back, with a magnet closure. It would make a really nice valentine for my husband. Although it is not the least bit masculine! Hey I tried I put hinges, also die cuts, on the corners of the frame. OK, I'm not done they need some bling! After all bling, roses, red, that's what I'm known for. Hope you find some inspiration in this project to create your own special valentines. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by.

  1. Sentiment, background heart doilie, cupids, hinges and couples silhouette are all die cuts using my Cameo. I inked the doilie with Tim Holtz walnut stain. The "I'm Yours" sentiment and cupids were coated with zig two way glue and covered with red glitter powder.
  2. Paper from Authentique, Lovely collection
  3. Muse token by Tim Holtz, Forevermore
  4. Metal keys by K and Company
  5. Roses in various sizes and colors by I am Roses

Feeling the blues..:)

Today I want to share a quick 5 by 5 card using a fabulous sketch from sketch Saturday. The great digi image is from Kenny K. I colored her with my copics. I struggle with coloring black hair and in her case tried to color her hair highlights blue, which are really not showing up in the pictures! I cut the circles with a nestabilities die and used a paper from DCWV Winter Wonderland stack. The blue polka dot paper is from Stampin up and the light blue is from Color Bok. The sentiment is a metal embellishment from Tim Holtz.  The background label is from a Stampin up punch. The roses are from I Am Roses. The glass wheat piece, brads, ribbon and metal key are from my stash. Everything was inked with Tim Holtz Walnut stain distressing ink. I absolutely love the way this card came out, hope you enjoy.

Back with a Valentine

Hello!! It has been a very long time since I have blogged or posted any projects! How I have missed sharing and joining in all the wonderful challenges. It has been a very hectic year and unfortunately I did not get around to posting much. I'm back...lol. I can say however that I have not been absent from crafting. Christmas cards, boxes, tags..check. Lately my focus has really been on mini albums. Nonetheless I wanted to start with a simple valentine card. Oh how I love this time of year! Red, black, pink, roses, lace, CHOCOLATE..lol. This are definite color schemes and embellishments I love to work with. So I present my favorite Kenny K image, Missfortune. I love coloring her with my copics. I also added a little bit of glitter on her boots and garters. The background doilie is a die cut I got from the Silhoutte library and cut out.  The calendar card is one of the elements from CartaBella Beautiful Memories, digital collection. I traced and cut out on my silhoutte. The background paper is from Authentiques, Lovely collection. I absolutely love that paper!! The Stamp is from Stampin ups PS. I love you set and punched out with the word window punch. The roses are from I Am Roses. The rest of the embellishments are from my stash. Thank you for stopping by. Hope you like.
